Clinical Pilates Physiotherapy

Clinical Pilates Physiotherapy is physiotherapy treatment that incorporates Pilates principles to support the rehabilitation of injury or dysfunction. Like all physiotherapy sessions at FreeForm, these appointments are one-on-one and led by a registered physiotherapist.

Clinical Pilates integrates physiotherapy with the principles and philosophy of Joseph Pilates’ original work. This approach is unique because it combines current knowledge of anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, and kinesiology with clinical reasoning to design a Pilates-based program specifically for rehabilitation and injury prevention. It is a research-supported and highly effective method for improving motor learning and overall movement control.

Before beginning Pilates-based rehabilitation, each client will complete a thorough initial assessment so that a plan can be tailored to their specific needs (this assessment is required). Like other physiotherapy treatments, follow-up sessions may include soft tissue and manual therapy, but are then combined with hands-on guidance and targeted cueing during movement on Pilates equipment such as the Reformer, Tower, Chair, or Mat. Following each session, clients receive tailored home exercises to reinforce progress and enhance everyday function.

Clinical Pilates Physiotherapy is suitable for people of all ages, activity levels, shapes, and sizes, as long as you’re motivated to learn more about your body and feel your best.

What Our Clients Say

"Karen Boyle in FreeForm Physio is the best physiotherapist I've ever had!
I suffered from lower back injury + pinched nerv for almost a year, tried other physios, chiro, acupuncture, osteopath but no one was able to help until I've got recommendation for Karen. In only a month my health issues got into minimal pain level, exercises are simple but effective. Karen found out connection between my lower back pain and my wrong rotating hip posture which no one of my physiotherapists before saw! Truly as a real Detective number One! So happy to get into her hands!"
