Vestibular Rehabilitation
Did you know that dizziness and balance problems affect nearly 50% of all adults at some point in their lives? Dizziness accounts for 5 to 10% of all doctor visits and is the number one reason people over the age of 65 see their physician. Dizziness is common, but it is not normal, and it is not something you should have to live with.

The terms dizziness and vertigo are often used interchangeably, but they are not the same. Dizziness is an umbrella term that describes a variety of sensations, such as feeling lightheaded, unsteady, as if you are floating, or like you are on a moving ship. Vertigo is defined as an illusion of movement of self or environment, which can present itself in many ways (not just horizontally as a spinning type of motion).
Because dizziness and vertigo have different causes, they require different approaches to treatment. Vestibular rehabilitation is an evidence-based therapy designed to help your body adapt and restore balance function. If you experience dizziness or vertigo in your daily life, vestibular rehabilitation may be beneficial for you.
Managing dizziness can be challenging and frustrating, but you do not have to navigate it alone. At FreeForm, we take the time to listen and understand your experience in detail so we can determine the right course of treatment or refer you to the appropriate specialist if needed.
